BY HEART FOR GOOD is a continual art piece; a vast yet very intimate series of videos and photographs that Sanja Pupovac has been working on for years.

By heart for good – refers to all that is learnt by heart, from art and from the world.

In every portrait you can see, perhaps, classic references; pictorial, cinematographic, but these are not reproductions nor caricatures, nor imitations, but poses and behaviors taken from memory, reproduced with the memory of the heart, the naturalness of knowing something without thought, because you know it well, you know it instinctively, maybe even without understanding it, that which you learn by seeing and absorb with time, that which you know without thinking and reproduce without effort.
